We
formed the Montana Chapter of the PRSA to answer many of our
own professional needs, as well as to encourage and support
the goals of the national organization. We offer:
|
|
Around-the
state networking, through email, fax, phone and monthly meetings
which rotate among the state's larger cities and towns;
|
|
Professional
development: workshops and seminars at the national level,
and Montana members have an annual professional development
conference in September;
|
|
and
Accreditation study and exam, so that you may achieve the
highest possible level of education and professionalism.
|
As
a national member, you also receive the award-winning monthly newsletter
Public Relations Tactics and the quarterly magazine Public
Relations STRATEGIST.
Help and
Referrals
One of the nicest things about PRSA is that we can
and do send each other referrals, ideas, and help. Rather
than being suspiciously competitive, the atmosphere is one of trying
to help and reinforce each other. This is true nationally
as well as locally.
Our Code of Ethics and Bylaws
We do have a Code of Ethics; it is enforced, and
is one of our strongest selling points. To read the
Code, click here.
Our Chapter's Bylaws can be found here.
Training at National and District Levels
When it is difficult to get to district conferences
and national conventions - and it is oftenextremely difficult for
those of us living in the western United States - we can order audio
and video tapes of the proceedings. In addition, PRSA has
now instituted teleconference training sessions, which work extremely
well. Several of us have participated and find this method
of training very worthwhile.
